How to Wear Blusher

7 April 2010

Blusher brings colour and a healthy glow to your face. It’s vital that blusher should complement rather than overpower the rest of your makeup. Where you put blusher is very important and it should be built up slowly to give you a natural glow rather than a stripe of colour.

What colour blush should you pick?

A simple rule would be the fairer the skin the lighter the shade, the darker the skin the deeper the shade. In general pinks or peachy tones are a safe bet.
Blondes should try pink-shade blushers, brunettes should try rose or brownish blush, and for all those red heads, try peach-toned blushers. Make sure when applying blusher that you tap off any excess blush from your brush and build up the colour until you get the desired effect, remembering to always blend well!

Types of Blusher – There are so many choices on the market now from powder to cream to mineral powder blush! Which one should you try?

Make-Up Tips

7 April 2010

From liquid, mineral powder to compact one’s, nowadays there are plenty of choices and options suitable for different skin types and age. Top make-up artists Aisling Eyre gives us some tips and recommendations helping you to choice the best option.

Mineral powders
Taking the make-up industry by storm at the moment are the ‘Mineral Powders’. I needed some convincing when these first arrived and now I’m a fan! Not only are these powders packed full of ingredients which are good for your skin, but are also suitable for all skin types and especially sensitive skin. They are most effective when brushed on with a good solid thick ‘kabuki’ brush.

Liquid foundation
The base most of us are familiar with. This can be used to create light cover or larger amounts can be used for stronger cover. Traditionally these were… read more…
