For my first blog post, I decided to elaborate on my fashion feature as seen on Ireland AM aired live on Friday 20th May. http://www.tv3.ie/3player/show/809/108794/0/Ireland-AM
Although, its 7 minutes long I just feel I have more useful tips to add on while the outfits I picked for the slot are really beautiful, affordable and just that bit different. I want to make it easier for you if you are on the search for that perfect dress to wear for any of your upcoming social event or special occasions this year!
Look 1: Summer Wedding Abroad
I opened my AM segment with this dress while it is such an absolute stunner! The colour is so vibrant and it will for sure stand out from the crowd at any party! I think this dress is perfect for a Summer wedding abroad while colour looks good in the sunshine! I love the heart shape bust line, the length while it comes to the knee and its floaty skirt line makes it suitable for a curvy shape.
The draped shoulder detail is very high end designer looking in my view.
I advise to wear a strapless bra with it but it has built in cups so if its comfortable enough for you, you dont need a bra at all. The fabric doesnt crease easily, so very practical when bringing it along in your carry on bag or suitcase when travelling to the wedding.
Look 2: Irish Wedding
I think that this retro inspired print bandeau or strapless dress is suitable for an Irish Summer wedding. It is much more expensive looking than €108.50 and the top of the dress has anti-slip tape so no fear of slipping down when dancing away on the dance floor :)))). In case you dont like strapless, the dress comes with matching little straps that you can hook into the inside loops. I had it teamed up with a white tux style short fitted blazer €39 from www.ontrend.eu while its practical to wear a jacket when the sun suddenly disappears or you just like to cover yourself up a bit more. This shape dress is also ideal for a petite-sized woman and curvy shapes while this retro inspired design works well for a real woman’s body.
Look 3: Christening/Family Event
Alternatively to a dress, I picked this smart skirt/blouse/jacket combo. Each piece is very easy to wear again with your already existing wardrobe so its money wisely spent! e.g. this smart gold buttoned jacket €35 from www.ontrend.eu looks really well with just a white plain t-shirt and a pair of denims jeans. The nude coloured pussy bow style top looks also great with a pair of jeans, a great outfit for someone with a bigger bust or wider hips who would find it harder to wear.
Skirt €49 and Blouse €35
Look 4: Mother-of- the-Bride
I called this dress on Ireland AM an Audrey Hepburn style look! Its so pretty in colour and has plenty of unique details such as the cut-out shoulder detail and the frilled hemline. Yes a more mature woman can wear this!!! And yes I know you love your arms covered, that is why I have the model wearing it worn with a blush short fitted jacket. Alternatively, I think this dress is also suitable for bridesmaids to wear especially when you are planning for either a contemporary or retro inspired wedding theme.
Look 5: The Races
Irish racing events are huge and Best Dressed Lady days are becoming more popular each year! I think this dress could win a prize if you wear it together with a stylish hat, shoes and handbag. The shape of the dress is ideal for an hourglass shaped body and when its more curvy the cleverly placed pleats and the oriental floral print on the waist will make it all very flattering looking.
www.mykindofdress.ie has sizes ranging from 8 – 22.
You cant trust Irish weather so make sure you wear a jacket or summer coat with it! I selected this very current cape shape jacket in khaki €39 from www.ontrend.eu. Why not wear it with stylish
Look 6: Friend or Colleagues Wedding
This stunning body con style dress with inspired bat wing style sleeves has definitely the WOW Factor for me! First of all, yes redheads like my model Lisa can wear red! Secondly, it’s a simple but very effective and stylish dress that only needs a few accessories like the pendant and the
cuff. The black clutch bag I found on www.ontrend.eu which retails for €45.
I hope you enjoyed my tips and till next time!
